Description

The Bobcat coat is buff and brown with some dark brown or black stripes and spots. The tail is tipped with black. The ears have tufts of hair on the tips and there are longer hair tufts on the sides of the head.

Head and body length: 65cm - 105cm. Tail length: 11cm - 19 cm. Weight: 4 - 15 kg.

Habitat

forests, mountainous regions, semi-desert, brush land

Food

About three kittens are born after a gestation period of 60 to 70 days. The kittens open their eyes after 10 day. They are weaned after about 8 weeks.

Breeding

A litter of three kittens is born after gestation period of 60 - 70 days. The young are fully weaned after 2 months.

Canada (S British Columbia to Nova Scotia), Mexico (south to Oaxaca), USA.
